Bats
Prevention:
- No toxins are approved for use against bats. Call Aardvark for a free inspection and information on alternative treatment options.
- Bats are commonly found in attics and outdoor beams. They often return to the same locations to rest or eat.
- Nesting bats in an attic space or confined location can create unsanitary conditions that should be dealt with immediately.
- Repellants, which rely on the strong odor of naphthalene, may be used for indoor use only and can be annoying to occupants. In addition, the repellant needs to be continually reapplied.
- Exclusion is the most cost effective and long term solution for bat problems. If done correctly, it is 100% effective and can last for decades. Call Aardvark for more information.

Bed Bugs
Prevention:
- We cannot treat bedbugs as we would any other pest we encounter. Bedbugs cannot be eliminated with baseboard sprays, fogging, or other superficial surface applications. Call Aardvark for treatment options.

- Bedbugs will normally be found on and around the bed, staying as close to their food source as possible. This means that many of them are hiding elsewhere, such as within wall voids, furniture, carpet edges, closets, and other rooms. There will be populations of them in sofas or recliners in other rooms if people sleep on these. Bedbugs are now found in buses, airplanes, theaters, schools, and pretty much anywhere else people will take them and drop them off. In a home, control must aim to eliminate every last bug and egg, or the infestation will start up again. This means that an intensive program of applying a suitable material into EVERY possible crevice must be attempted. All clothing must be removed and laundered or dry cleaned, and not returned to the room until it is known to be free of the bugs. In fact, every item in the room must be tended to in some manner, since the bugs may hide in virtually anything.

- In the winter, gophers still dig, and gopher tunnels are found, even in the snow.
